because 44/7 = (28 + 16)/ 7 = 28/7 + 16/7 = 4 + 16/7

so
4+16/7 =28/7 + 16/7 =(28+16)/7 =44/7

because the demonators have to match in order to add fractions so you find a common denominator (7) and times it by 4 which equals 28 over 7 (28/7) than u can add 16/7 + 28/7 giving you 44/7

take the LCM of 4/1 + 44/7 the lcm comes out to be 7.....the 4(num)*(7)lcm=28 +16=44/7
