Nope, since my beau waited for a day for me when I was late for our date before. <*-*>

In the Philippines? No way. First of all if I did, I would never get to date anyone. I mean everyone is late all the time in the PI. Especially the first date because they are new to the drive/ride/location and a lot can go wrong. I mean traffic can go nuts for no reason. One time I had to be somewhere at 4pm. So I left at noon, and got there very early, like at 1230. So I stopped nearby at a location to eat before going over to an appointment. I left from less than 1 mile away and got stuck at an intersection for over two hours and was almost late. Now I was extreme and most people don't have hours and hours to kill to be on time.

I think the most important thing is to call the person who's waiting for you to let them know you are on your way. Maybe for the first date its ok to tell them--I'm leaving now and it's about a 40 min drive so I should be there a little early. Then if you get stuck in crazy traffic, police raid, fire, or bombing, you can call them back and say, I'm stuck in a bombing and I'll be a little late, and I'm so sorry.

Now I eventually got married. My wife was late on our first date, as my place is closer to the central area of Manila we agreed to meet there. When she did arrive she went to the wrong building. During our dating she's always late and when we married, she was late for her wedding. She's so late, that she misses international flights from Manila because even the other Filipino's won't wait for her (ha ha). But it's no problem, I'd wait for her for a hundred years, and a I'd walk a 1000 miles to be with her. So you have to ask yourself how much you value this person you are waiting for.

It depends if she is really worth it and hot.. Benefit of the doubt would help and if I know that I have a chance then 20 minutes is nothing.. If she's average, I would still wait but might be contemplating if I'll go out with her in the future.

do you like him?

if not then just do your stuff.

depends on how you feel your time is important. what would be nice is if you have something else to do so time would just fly by.

but knowing the horrible traffic now. he must have been caught between a truck and a bus somewhere along metro manila's wild concrete jungle. so have patience for the poor guy.

you can call him too, it is not as if you would seem to be so after him. tell him you would be at such a place if he arrives late. he can run after you there.

If this Grouch ever gets a real, honest to goodness date, then you can expect me to wait till hell freezes over. Have you seen this comic picture of a skeleton in tattered clothes, head resting on the bones of an arm, on a table with computer screen in cobwebs, and the title of the picture was "Waiting for Bonus"? I could just as easily replace the caption with "Waiting for My Date".

Wait an hour and check voice messages, email and so forth. pray that he/she is ok and not in an accident or something, you never know what could have came up. Dont get too pissed but at the same time, thats not hot. If there is no good reason, forgive and FORGET him/her.

It depends. He would have to give me a really good and credible excuse, otherwise I would "totally call of the date"/
