Your heart is not something to mess with, and you should see a doctor as soon as possible.

It may be "nothing" - but leave that to a medical professional to decide.

You could have a serious heart problem and it should be checked out by a doctor. Things to know that can be of help.....your most recent blood pressure after resting. Pulse rate around 60-70? Are you getting fibrillation where the heart's rhythm isn't precise. Does this manifestation usually occur when you are upset? Nervous? Have you tried a Ativan 1 mg to see if it calms you down? Is your blood pressure normal?I would advise you not to put off an exam that has to do with the heart. Are you possibly too heavy?
Is your breathing impaired? Do you get dizzy when you stand or when you rise from a chair too rapidly? Do not go to see a regular MD. Visit a cardiologist who will also take an EKG.

Palpitations can be caused by low potassium, being dehydrated, too much caffeine, a thyroid problem, anxiety, and of course sometimes a heart problem.
Tell your doctor so you can have an EKG to make sure nothing's wrong with the heart itself. If you have some blood work done, you may find the problem is simple to correct. Once I had my thyroid treated, my palpitations stopped.

I agree 100% with Jason J's statement. Do not mess with your heart and don't listen to specific advice (like taking potassium--it is possible your potassium is low, but it could also be high. Irregular hearbeats can be caused by a high potassium level)--do not mess with your potassium levels unless it is advised by a cardiologist. Your heart flutters could be benign, but they can also be a warning sign of serious cardiac disease. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
