Wow, I thought I was old (33) but even I am not old enough to be a true to life hippie. I guess there are neo-hippies now?

I pretty much missed that train by a few years and because I became a Christian. Christians are not too big on the free love stuff, unless it is the free love of God through Jesus Christ.
Honestly, I'm glad I never was a hippy, they looked pretty grungy to me!

Apparently so.
I remember somebody shouting "hippy" at me in the early 70s.
all because I was walking down the road minding my own business smoking a spliff and wearing an afghan coat.

No, but my parents grew up in that era and sort of were and when I was born they tell me my uncle (dad's brother) referred to me as a kid of the hippies and came up with the nickname Kippie and somehow it stuck and I've been called that since I can remember.
