Today's Santa Claus actually comes from Saint Nicholas, a bishop of the early Christian church. It was common for bishops to wear red garments trimmed with white, and that's why Santa wears red and white.

santa is not real. he was a cartoon character invented by coca-cola. and since coca-cola label is red and white, santa (the mascot) is also red and white... if you are coloring a picture of santa, you can make him whatever colors your heart desires. you dont have to follow the rules

i have read before that the color red is the first color that babies recognize when they start to see things.. i guess this may be the reason why the Santa we are familiar of is associated with the color red since his "fans" are mostly children.. the color red is more striking to them so they notice Santa.. also, because i think it is the only image of Santa that is presented to us since the beginning..

None, wearing that is a personal choice. I wear his love in my heart and that all I need, and the word of God sanctified in my heart. I don't have to display as the pagan does. I have no idea. i mean if he wore pink and sky blue he'd be so much popular by the girls. for the boys, black and army green would look cool. red and white is so boring.
