I remember I couldn't wait to go and being upset that my Mother spent so long washing me and plaiting my hair and then me wanting to a wear a tie like my brothers did but as I wore a Summer frock that was not on (I *did* wear a tie when I wore a blouse and skirt or gymslip later on in the year and loved it!).
I remember my first teacher well but don't really recall the first day - but my Mother said I ran straight in without a backwards glance whereas my brothers had cried and cried on their first day especially the eldest.
I remember my first day of secondary school better - I was nervous but my youngest brother was still there and he had been instructed to keep an eye out for me so I was fine!

Firstly -it was 56 years ago -and I remember it as if it was ....well, yesterday ( I don't remember what happened yesterday, though ! ).
I fell over on the way and my leg was bleeding quite badly. So , first stop was finding the Medical Room for a plaster - they were allowed in those days ! I've still got the scar on my knee . The other thing I remember is that I was the biggest !

The only thing that I remember from the first day was this girl, who's name I still remember, who was crying like an insane person because she didn't want her mom to leave. Then, when her mom left, it got worse. I really couldn't understand the big deal.

Not a thing.
I remember where I sat on my first day of high school though. But that was four years ago and I walk past the spot nearly everyday.
Hmm, need to work on my memory skills.

my 1st day of school was traumatizing because i had been with my mom every day since i was born, and when she took me some where that i didn't know the place or the people i totally freaked out and my whole kindergarden year all the kids & teacher had to hug me when i got to school, (said the teacher) just to make me feel better i guess. I will definatley have my daughter more socialable then i was before kindergarden!!!

All we did was play, I'd been told I was going to learn to read and write, so I asked the teacher when we were going to be getting our lessons, the next day I was moved in to the other primary 1 class! PMSL, I've always been a mouthy cow! LOL

I Remember that my teacher could yell like my mother and wore the same Bee Hive Hairdo as she did. My teacher also wore too much make-up and perfume, and loved Plaid clothing.

I was delighted because I had caught Chickenpox and had to stay at home!
I also remember (from later on) when a boy decided to shut himself in a cupboard. Needless to say he got stuck!

What a good question!!!!!!
Can't remember much, except a little boy crying for his mum, and playing in the sandpit.
