Don't blame the parents! That's crap. Sure they are responsible for something...however, it's all up to the kid to turn it around. You could have 2 kids that are brought up the same exact way...it's all how they perceive their parents. I don't think that Britney and Jamie's mom wanted them to grow up to be skanks...
In their case, I think the media and the money have something to do with it...some people just can't handle all of that.

Who says it's completely the parents fault? What if Jamie was using her older sister as a role model? I mean, Britney is not exactly the perfect older sister, now is she? And most younger siblings look up to their older siblings. Not to say that the parents don't hold some responsibility. I think that they probably think it's "cute." But yes, all persons in the public eye should hold themselves to a higher standard because of their chance to be positive role models, but they don't. They are still human, and they will still make mistakes. But it seems like some of them (the spears sisters for example) make alot more than others....

Blame the parents. I agree. Yet both of these girls are making their own choices. Jamie, she is young. Britney. She is just plan ignorant.
Their mother canceled a book on parenting. Go figure!!!

Look at all the other celebrities.. they're all popping out kids left and right as if it's an easy thing that anyone can do. I agree, it's the parents' fault though mostly (could also be Britney's influence) and it's like the whole "shame on you if you fool me once, shame on me if you fool me twice" in a way.. shame shame on the parents.. haha

Why are we so critical of Britney and Jamie Spears?
Because they are public figures so to speak.

I think many of us are just TIRED of their whole noisy, trashy, and graceless clan. I have little patience with people who have every material advantage possible but can't get themselves on the Pill when they need to be on it or, in Britney's case, on other kinds of medication as well.
I hope Lynne Spears will not follow through with writing a book on parenting, which doesn't seem to be her area of expertise.

Agree.
We shouldn't. Usually bad children are the product of the upbringing.
Deep down I feel sorry for the Spears sisters. Britney is probably on the you know....something up her nose or her vein....and her sis? I think she made a mistake. Just like any 16 y.o., who have sex think that it won't happen to them, did happen. It's too late. She could have kept quiet but she ruined her career by opting to reveal it. Media picked up on it and it is big news. They both really are very pretty girls. itch, itch.......... so sad.
