Suddenly like as in instantly? Well, i think we would all be dead. Ever seen The Day After Tomorrow? That is nothing we would experience.

The magnetic poles have reversed hundreds if not thousands of times since the earth was formed 4.5 billion years ago. Probably not much would happen to us except that our compasses would read north incorrectly. Many animals would have to relearn their directions, and the northern lights would be seen where the new north and south magnetic poles would be.

Poles change, not suddenly, take long time, impossible happen suddenly.

well , north will be south and south will be north, certain species of animals like birds whom depend on the magnetic field of the earth for navigation will lost their way . people whose heart is sensitive to electromagnetic pulse may stop beating ....
