4$ for every 20

Say your Bill is $10.
10% of that is $1.
Double it. So, 20% of $10 is $2.

I always double the tax (usually about 7-8%) and then add another $2 for every $10. It may not be exactly $20, but close. You can always move the decimal and double that.
