When I was 15 (before I had had sex) my penis developed this red rash on its head and my foreskin became slightly tender(I could pull it back all the way, however.) Anyways, after a week this cleared up. Now I am 18 and it is back....I got it and then it went away, so I was happy. It is now back -again-, this is twice in three weeks. Is this balanitis? I have had sex when it was gone for the week (with my GF and we used a condom...) I couldn't wash it straight away....you think the moisture gave me this? I have read up a bit on balanitis, so thats why I think I have it; I seem to have all the symptoms.

Circumsised...=O I ain't getting that, I have heard it can reduce pleasure. My dad wanted me to get it done but I refused. So, no doctor is letting me get it done. I am going to leave this for a week and then go to the doctor if it has not healed.

I guess if you are having an inflammed foreskin then that counts as balanitis. So it depends on the cause of it.

Could you be allergic to the latex in the condom perhaps? Or the moisture could be a cause like you think. Have you recently changed soaps, is your soap harsh, have you used any bubble bath?

Here's a good link, you've probably already found it though: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/menshealth/facts/balanitis.htm

You'd best go to the doctor to see what they could do for you. (But don't let them talk you into getting circumcised, unless you want to be, that is way overboard for a mild inflammation.) In the meantime be sure to wash well, I would say just using plain water for the moment, because if it's fungal then antibacterial soap would worsen it, and if your soap is the cause then that could worsen it too etc.

Ps Ignore ponysteel (guy below me) he has a fetish for circumcision. You are wise for not wanting to get it done, and balanitis is not a reason for doing it.

You might have a yeast infection. Men can get it, though most don't think so. I've had it a couple times. Try some Lotrimin cream. Rub it all over the head couple times a day for several days to a week. If that don't take care of it see a doctor. I don't think getting cut would be a good idea. Most of these guys that brag up being circumcised are not old enough to notice how much that will mess up their sex life. It's fine when your in your 20s and 30s. But get into your 40s and 50s the loss of sensitivity really shows up then.

Dude! You should get circumcised! Don't believe all the anti BS! I was cut when I was 18 and would do it again in a heartbeat! Sex is actually 100% better when you are circumcised! Why on earth would you want to go through life like that?
