Sorry but your goldfish has lost his air bladder which is normal when they're not going to live. Wish I could have better news for you.

I had this happen to me with my sons first goldie...the main reason I was told by people on here was that it was 1. in too small a tank and was being killed by its own waste. 2. that I might have been over feeding it 3. That the levels in my aquarium were off.
My sons new goldie is doing just nicely...with regular water changes and some salt that the petstore told me to do to neutralize bad bacteria he is a swimmin champ but doesn't like to vaccum his floor.

Not sure how 100% those things to try are but it is worth a try. I also tryed the frozen pea thing with the first one and it just didn't eat it, but I have read elsewhere online it helps.
Good Luck, it is sad even when a fishy friend is sick...ya just feel helpless I hope it perks back up and things go back to normal.

its got a problem with its boyancy put it in a container with enough water in the contianer to cover the fish (just to the top of its fin)and leave it like that for a few days with a bit of luck it should be back to normal after a few days .This is what i was told by someone who had fish for years and it worked for me, use the same water as in the tank .Good luck. P.S.Do not cover the container.

Change some of the water, (about 25%) add some aquarium salt (make sure it's for freshwater though - not marine) and, if it's still eating, give it a pea - shelled, defrosted and chopped. The pea adds fibre to the diet and can help with constipation and swimbladder.

Fingers crossed. :-)

Could be he has a problem with the swim bladder, make sure the water in the container is clean and it should be okay in 1 or 2 days.

Definitely sounds like its the swim bladder. Doesn't necessarily mean it's the end though. There are salt solutions available from aquarists to treat the water.

I'm sorry about that. Poor thing.
It sounds like it could have brain damage or something. Take it to a vet.
I don't want to be cruel, but if that were my fish I'd put it down.
