The Devil makes work for idle hands.
Boredom caused a lowering of the minds defences, exposing and rendering us susceptibe to the manipulative scheming and wiles of that lower nature in humanity, festering in the bowel of lesser mortals. All that is required is a seed of what we perceive as clandestine or illicitness and and this seed shoots forth into a huge mushroom cloud regrettable ill will, bad behaviour and the succumbing to those deadly sins, seven and counting...

I don't think it causes jealousy. I think insecurity coupled with the perception that someone else has something or someone you want but don't have causes jealousy. What boredom can do is fuel the jealousy, because you have time on your hands to brood and ruminate on the jealous thoughts.

"Does boredom cause jealousy?"
This is vague question but I will approach it the best that I can.
Boredom allows your mind the freedom to wander. So, you may began to imagine different scenarios. . .you call your significant other and he/she does not answer so you begin thinking that she could be with someone else, etc.
On a different level: you are bored with your life and it seems that everyone else around you (friends & family) are leading a life that is more interesting & fulfilling than your own. . .so you become jealous of what they have, etc.
So basically, yes, it is highly probable that boredom can lead to jealously.

Indirectly... it gives someone extra time to contemplate or obsess about certain situations.. especially with relationships, let's say one is out with another person of the oppsite sex and it isn't their bf or gf..the one who is left behind is probably less likely to become or at least show their jealousy if they're occupied somehow. But.. no matter what, the jealousy will come up eventually.
Sorry if that's confusing..

No, a person's personality causes Jealousy. Although you could be jealous if you were reeeelly board, and your best Friend is out at a party I guess. That's a strange question, I don't think the two relate.

I think it could be a long chain that boredom can turn into jealousy.
Boredom..... frustration..... lowering of self-esteem...... focus on external factors...... identification of others enjoying exciting activities.... judgment of those people as more fortunate...... jealousy for their being more fortunate.
Yes a plausible scenario!!

Heck no. Not by a long shot.
Boredom causes results such as a break up ( I got tired of her/him) or lack of attention and forgetfulness (what boyfriend/ girlfriend? )

Sure, I think so. It is possible that you may have feelings for someone or know someone who you admire...in which you have no better things to do with your time than to be jealous of what kind of life they have.

It doesn't cause it, but if you are a jealous person, it probably gives you too much time to let your mind roam.
