Look at the gas gauge. It usually has an arrow pointing to that side.

It is tough for sure!
I try to use the fuel gauge to look for an arrow, than my side mirrors to try and spot the lid. After that, I just go with depending on the cars design. If it's a good car, why would they want you to bump your door into the pumps when you get out..... I try to assume it's on the passenger side. If not, well, there goes 30 seconds.

You really dont.
sometimes there is an aarow pointing which side the tank is on by the fuel guage, otherwise you just need to look.
all 3 of my cars have them on the driver side, I guess GM usually puts them on the driver side, at least in the past.

You can look in the rear view mirrors and see if you can spot the fuel door. Either that, or just look around the car before you get in it and then remember which side it is on.
good luck.

Hehe, I forget in my own car. Just roll down the window and look back to see if you can see the door.

Wear your wrist watch on the arm of the same side the gas tank is on.
