The people that posted above me obviously haven't really heard how it all ties in together. They think that the President makes the rules, not the Constitution. They absorb everything the TV tells them, and they fight those that don't need a gov't telling them what to do or how to do it. I know because I voted for Bush 2 times, and then I finally found out about Ron Paul. I had never really looked at politics in any detail; therefore, I had NO IDEA what was really going on. Ron Paul wants to keep our troops safe by bringing them home and ending the illegal federal reserve isn't a new idea! It was formed without the people having a say. Rest assured, there are a lot more of us than anyone knows about, and come primary time, we'll be the ones showing up to vote. JUST LIKE THE STRAW POLLS NOBODY TALKS ABOUT!!!

I love some of his ideas, like doing away with the IRS and other things but I think the reason some people think he is a nut case is because he gets very excited when expounding upon the issues and his already somewhat shrill voice gets even more so. I think this race is wide open and anything could happen. People are ready for change that is certain we are tired of politicians selling the American people and America out for their own gain and leaving our borders unprotected. Both Republicans and Democrats are tired of the business as usual style of government we have had. We want people in office who will take care of America and Americans and who actually work and accomplish something rather than get bogged down in partisan politics.

Probably has something to do with the human condition that makes you insult people who don't agree with you. You feel strongly about Ron's ability to be a good leader, the majority of us have strong feelings that someone with very unrealistic ideas whose nickname is "Dr.No" because he won't cooperate with anyone on anything makes many feel his ability to interact and compromise with others is not a virtue we need in the Presidency.

Why not?
With herd mentality.
Happily singing " For he's a jolly good fellow"
In following the dead Mummy in bringing them along in searching the way back to the pyramids in Egypt even holding their hands too in crossing the "Bridge over troulble water"
Luke 8.10,17
what do you think?

Ron Paul has been running on this same goofy libertarian platform for 20 years, no medicare, no IRS, no dept of education, no social security, blah blah blah...., the difference this time is that on one issue, get out of Iraq, he has garnered a whole lot of attention, because he is the only republican to hold this position, the only guy in the GOP to hold a rational view on the war.
Us liberals love him because of the way he is making those other jokers look in the republican debates, look at his first two appearances on Real Time with Bill Mahar, the first time Mahar only knew of his libertarian views and interviewed him as a looney wack job most of us think he is, when Mahar became aware of his anti-war views, he invited him back on and treated him like some kind of wise senior statesmen. Much is made of all this money he raises, I think a lot of it come from libs like me who love to see the turmoil he is causing in the Republican party.

I guess it just shows that a lot of people are just sheep, they simply vote for the criminals their party puts forward, then complain that they had to vote for the "lesser of two evils" At some level we have no choice, because we choose not to have one. If all the millions who are disheartened by the inadequate candidates being put up by their chosen party would actually vote their conscience then the two party system would die immediately. I have voted for many candidates who had no chance of winning, because of the grip of the two major parties, and will continue to do so,if a candidate better matches my beliefs they will get my vote, regardless of whether they have a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected.

Ron Paul is anti-establishment to the extreme. At the same time, his voting record shows he's for banning guns. I don't want to live in a country with no rules if there's also no contingency plan.

His solution to the economy is to get rid of the Federal Reserve. That is a really bad idea.
