Yes, it will grow back.

Just try to keep it clean, incase of an infection.

It's okay! Relax! I lost my toenail before while I was jumping on concrete and I scraped it across. Here's what you need to do: Keep putting peroxide on it. DO NOT put a band aid on. DO NOT wear sneakers it irritates the wound. DO NOT do any physical activity especially if it involves a lot of running. You shouldn't need to go to the Doctor. Try to stay off of your feet the best that you can walking won't hurt but do not run. Keep doing that and the nail will grow back in no time! It should only take a few weeks. Good Luck an remember to stay calm!

Happens to me all the time. Takes a few months to grow back but it will. Iv lost my finger and toe nails alot. Don't bother going to a doctor, just keep a band aid or something on it so no dirt gets in it. then after about a week. you can take the band aid off. Feel free to change the band aid when you shower and sleep and stuff.

Why was it barely hanging on? If you dropped something on your toe, that's one thing; if it became detached due to something else, that's another. Losing a nail due to injury is natural, and the nail will usually grow back, up to twice as thick. It seems our bodies compensate for injury. But if you lost it due to illness or some sort of deficiency in your diet, it may not. If you don't know why, go to a doctor and find out. An ounce of prevention is worth a lifetime of problems.

yea, i kicked a door before and after a while it eventually fell off. At first your skin (under the nail) will dry up. It doesn't hurt if it does so naturally. Soon you can see a new little nail grow. It's really cool because you could show people and gross them out.

Yes you will be fine. A new nail will grow to re-cover the bare skin.

first off... EWW!
2nd... yes is will be fine! you probably just hit the nail hard with something. My finger nail fell off when i got hit with a baseball. It'll probably fall off completely... but it will grow back! And wait till you see how your finger looks underneath it! It's weird!!

The whole thing will fall off and a new one will most likely grow in, don't worry too much about it, though you can talk to a doctor to ease any worries you may have.

Yes, I've had this happen to me a few times and a new nail usually appears straight away. I've never had any dramas.
