No, a college student should not be embarrassed about getting a BA or BS at 26. Age shouldnt be a factor in attaining a degree in higher education. A lot of people go back to school for many reasons and no one cares how old you are when you get a college degree. The important thing is that you tried to get the degree no matter how old you are. I have a friend who is 27 and is currently in the process of getting a BS and then pursuing medical school after that. Being slightly older than the typical age of undergraduate shouldnt be something embarrassing.

you should never be embarrassed about earning a degree. there are 90 year olds who go back to earn a degree. i would love to earn a degree. and I could, however I would need to make it a priority. my point is...good for you. achieving it at a younger age when you don't have other commitments for your life is always best. after that...it's a sacrifice that is not always determined as feasible at the time in your life. (with family and mortgage and such). be proud of yourself. you have accomplished alot in 26 years. God willing...you will live another 60 + years to enjoy your efforts. I am very happy for you. and you should be also.

Why in the world would you be embarrassed to receive your degree at 26? This is something that you have worked hard to accomplish and you should celebrate and be recognized for this accomplishment !!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, not everyone receives their college degree at 22 - some of us are very late bloomers!!!!!!!!!!
I am 52 and am 6 hours away form obtaining my BS in Criminal Justice. H*ll - when ever I get my BS - YOU will probably be able to hear me, I WILL BE SO VERY, VERY HAPPY.

Absalulty not. Better late then never. I have people in my classes who are older than that and im going for my bachellors. Ill actually be graduating when im only 20 because of highschool AP credits and i feel like im at a disadvantage because im young people, wont take me seriously. Not to mention and i dont have much experience. But go with it and good luck!
