anyone who knows their "malcolm in the middle" characters?

i have got to know the character on "malcolm in the middle" that louis is crazy about. hes a cheezy tom jones like character played by david cassidy and malcolm gets tickets and takes louis to see his show in las vegas. does anybody know the name of the character played by david cassidy?
