Clemens has not faced an iota of the scorn and ridicule Bonds has faced. On ESPN they are defending Clemens saying the trainer I think his name is Macamee or something is a liar. Also, Bonds has been investigated for the last 5 or 6 years by baseball, local and federal law enforcement. So, I don't think you can lump Bonds and Clemens together. As for Mc Gwire and Sosa, McGwire has been retired and Sosa hasn't tested positive----yet. Also, everybody remembers how "feel good" it was when they were both chasing home run record.

For all its length, the Mitchell report got most of its names from the testimony of two clubhouse guys -- a clubhouse assistant and team trainer for Mets and Yanks.
So, if you look, most all the names have ties to them (spent time in NY).
What that tells you is that a HUGE number of steroid/HGH users in the game during that period aren't here, and since Sosa and Mac aren't tied to these guys, they aren't in here.
Mitchell was stonewalled in talking to most everyone in baseball.
Also, Mac isn't discussed as much because he is out of the game - has been for years.
As to Sosa, he is in the game but nowhere near the star Clemens and Bonds are.
In those two, you have the best pitcher and best hitter of this era, and two of the greatest all-time.
Certainly those two will get more airplay.

thats because there is now resonable proof that bonds and clemens used steroids, but the same cannot be said of sosa, mcgwire we can all assume that they did take steroids, though it seems less likely with mcgwire as he was a beast already when he played college ball

For some unexplained reason there names were not in the report. However, with his pathetic performance in front of Congress everyone knows McGwire did them. And anyone who has a brain knows Sosa did them.

the mitchell report basically was what a couple trainers had info on. sosa nor mcgwire did not have connections with these individuals. if you listen enough, you'll hear sosa and mcgwire's name mentioned on every sports radio show when steroids, andro, hgh is talked about.

everyone is drawn to the 2 biggest names. the best hitter and the best hitter of this generation are both in the steroids/HGH discussion. a retired, formerly-juiced, non-HOFer who's already "paying the price" from spotswriters protesting him isn't in the report, nor is it new news. Sosa is washed-up (ever since going off the sauce) and trying to revive his career. most people don't care about him any more, realizing he was a fraud in his big HR years (starting with the 1998 lovefest).
if specific names aren't being brought up in the media right now (with the exception of a few- Clemens and those who are coming out publicly), it's because writers and fans are probably coming to grips with the fact that roughly 20 years of MLB history have been tainted, and virtually everyone from that era is a doping suspect.

Simply put: neither of them ever played in New York, and the bulk of the allegations are through a Mets clubhouse assistant. There has been a lot of speculation about both of them, but to date it's never been anything concrete - no documents, no testimony.
