You have to check out "The Hard Road Restrung" by Hilltop Hoods. They're a hip hip group backed on this album by an orchestra. Awesome stuff.

hmm.. well.. I'm normally not into a real "hip hop" sound.. but I really love when the violin or fiddle is used in interesting ways.. that was a really good clip..

I think the most intriguing violin and/or fiddle player (as they are essentially the same instrument played in slightly different ways) would be Ashley MacIsaac.. who combines many different styles depending on what mood he's in..
It's not exactly "hip hop" but..

Another interesting combination would be from a band called Scythian that I watched during an Irish Music Festival.. the song is called Technocordian .. Weird blend of Celtic/Folk/and "eurotrash" disco.. it was bizarre.. and really seemed to make it's own "genre"..

Wow! I didn't know that hip-hop could sound good with violins. They need to move this to the mainstream. Instead of the falsettos and high voices (the trend of now), move it to them blingin' violins.

Listen to "Dies Irae" from Requiem by Karl Jenkins for example! Quite modern and very rhythmic!

I was going to tell you to keep on dreaming and that no such thing exists until I clicked on the link. HOLY CRAP!!! That kicked a-s-s 100%. Just need to drop some dope rhymes on that beat and it would rule at life. If you find anything else like this, let me know. :D
