I have school notes from the end of 8th grade until now, all saved in folders divided by the classes...I just kept them because it was work that I did and liked, it would take a lot of time to look through them and take what i liked the most..

I know i can scan them but my scanner needs software n it doesnt work cuz my 16bit screen doesnt allow it etc etc...
i dont know what to do, it takes up like an entire drawer and more.. I also save birthday cards and holiday cards since like years ago. I like memories and I dont like to forget things, the problem is space and organization..

thanks...

I have a friend who, at 50, still has all of her class notes from high school. It would drive me completely crazy; I can't stand having anything around that I'm not using regularly. Only you know what is important to you. If you have run out of space, it seems to me that your only options are to throw it all out, to narrow the collection, or to find a new way of storing it, such as scanning it. My guess is that you don't need most of it and could narrowing it down into a project. It might take you a few days, but it would save you a lot of space. It took me three years to computerize my entire recipe collection, but I'm thrilled that I no longer have to deal with boxes and boxes of little pieces of paper.

I am 62, and I still have my college notes, at least those from my field. Nine semesters of structural engineering, and all in all, six years' worth of valuable architectural education. This does not go out of date. Have I gone back and referred to the material? Yes, but not too often. And yet, I am not ready to throw it out. Maybe that is why I needed to work hard and earn enough to have a nice big house!

I'm the same way. I scanned all my school work into the computer. It's all digital now and it saves on space. I kept the birthday cards and things like that. Good luck.

I keep all my college work in storage. I just put them all in large plastic water/bug tight bins. Didn't bother keeping high school stuff though, since I thought that was worthless.
