hi, do we realize that complete dependencies on computer technologies will lead US to self destruction?

because most dangerous/drugs can be made with help of technology, , whiping out/altering human memory. what do you think about it? thanks

gibson: that's problem. reason because we use computer technology everyday life, now imagine this computer s become self aware. what then?

I think all of the technology that we have today is causing a serious decline in our abilities. For instance, when was the last time you actually had to remember a phone number? Personally, I don't really know anyone's phone numbers anymore b/c they are all saved in my cell phone's memory. Also, due to the spell check feature on computer programs, me...once an awesome speller having great difficulities spelling the simplest of words. We are getting lazy and our memories are suffering for it. We don't even have to actually know how to get anywhere anymore b/c of the GPS systems we have...it's a terrible thing that our minds are being wasted.

I would have a fear of the downfall of man by technology. But the other day I was talking to the guys at work, and when I talked about a computer issue I was having, they all looked at me like I was from the future. yes most people still use their computers to play solitare.
Besides, All of this computing horsepower I am holding cannot go get me a beer...yet.
