To tell the truth, I think the Eagles are pretty mediocre. I'm relatively young, though. Their music is enjoyable enough, but I figure Eagles songs will cease from regular radio rotation when the last baby boomer kicks the bucket.
That said, I'd rank them around 50 or so (mainly for the song "Hotel California").

definately top 10, top 5 maybe but its debatable, there have been some truly legendary bands out there, the beatles, the stones, skynard, pink floyd, journey, reo speedwagon. i think it would come down to number of #1 albums and singles, # of albums sold, ticket sales, and longevity. just think, if i saw one of the eagles out at mcdonalds, would i know who he was? and then ask if the majority of people that listen to rock, including the eagles music, would know who he was also. now those other bands and many more i believe so. but yes, top 10 def. top 5...not mine.

i love the eagles, my dad got me into them when i was little..i've seen them in concert even, but i don't think i would put them on my top five..they should be ranked about 9 in my opinion

i'd say 5th or 6th. The Eagles were an incredible band. it's not fair to put them over 10th or under 3rd.

I wouldn't put them on my top five, top ten, top one-hundred, or possibly even my top 500, but I'm not sure I could name 500 rock groups.
