Money can buy everything. If you can show me one thing money can't buy, I will pay you for it.

provide someone transportation to Christmas Mass. Ask a single person or a single military person to share your Christamas meal. Take some holiday food over to an elder neighbor or elder relative who is a shut-in. Babysit or grannysit while their caregiver does Christmas shopping. Help serve food at your local Salvation Army or volunteer your time to be a bell ringer. Send gifts or gifts of money to the orphanages, or to those children who are in need. Give a brown bag of food or drop off some canned or boxed food at the food tent for the people on welfare. Pray for the less fortunate.

If they are precious, then you've already given them all the important things: your love and heart, your time, your smile. But these are year-round gifts and not something special for Christmas. For that: a reminder of what Christmas is about--our salvation secured by the birth of one baby. Take the person to a Christmas service, write and sing a little carol, draw some Christmas art. And pray for that one baby to be born into each of us.

Yes, I sure can and already did this deed...
I took a long time family friend who is disabled out to eat lunch and go to the mall and I bought him some gifts...
He told me that just getting out and going to the mall was fun even if I hadn't bought him lunch or a gift...
He was excited to be out in public and he can't do that all alone...
So after I took him out and spent the whole day with him, he thanked me with a hug and a nice card...
He also had no money to spend and I helped him buy a gift he wanted...
So it was a nice fun day...

For those in nursing homes you can show them that they are still someone special by visiting for an afternoon with them - read stories, play bingo or cards, listen to their stories.
Your time is free - but it has way more worth than you can imagine.
For a sweet heart or a family member's gift when you have no money - give them special favors. Such as: wash their car, clean their house, cook their dinner/breakfast, run errands for them.

For someone who is yearning and pining for you, just a phone call will brighten their day or leave them with a long lasting memory. I mean someone whom you have been avoiding and the other party is craving to speak to you. You will know how it feels if you have been in this situation. It would also show forgiveness which Christmas is all about. Merry Christmas all my fellow netizens here !!!!!! Cheers...

Emerson eloquently stated, "The greatest gift a man (person) can give is the gift of himself (/herself)". ... Time, companionship, a ride, cleaning, conversation, sharing the family meal (with the family for someone who has no one), etc. are just a few examples... What a great question, Eric!!! It truly captures the core meaning of the season...

Your time and thoughtfulness count as much as if you had spent a lot of money. If someone writes me a thoughtful letter I feel as if they spent a hundred dollars on me. Obviously, just kindness is the best gift.
