my base town and country came without a tachometer. is it just a replaceable thing with a cluster that has a tach? or is there a lot of work involved that wouldnt be worth it?

It's my understanding that your current computer has to be programmed to operate a tachometer if not so equipped originally, or use the computer from the vehicle where the tachometer was removed. Of course the donor computer has to match your vehicles engine, transmission, and other equipment exactly or the vehicle will not function properly.

Get a whole board from a junk yard and plug it into the harness that should be the way to go
