Yes, when I was in junior high, one of the girls in my class had lice...or what I thought was lice. They were tiny little bugs crawling around on the top of her head.
I took the teacher to the side and told her what I saw. I got in trouble, b/c the teacher thought I was lying or something.
Btw...it was not a pleasant sight and I still don't know how the girl didn't know she had them. I would think one's head would be itching like crazy with the little critters on your head.

If you have children and in school, you will see them sooner or later.
My two oldest has had lice a couple of times,so far my 5 year old has not had it. It has been a long time since I have had to treat their heads.
It is nothing to freak about but it is a lot of work--wash their hair, comb threw it, wash everything they have been in contact with--bedding,ect, vacuum every room in the house and furniture, then spraying items.
Unlike what a lot of people believe, it isn't "dirty" to get them and lice prefer clean hair over dirty hair--they can't live in oily hair.

Oh yeah, I one time picked lice out of a girl's hair in school to show to the teacher and tell her I found a bug. :) Instant trip home! I have 5 sisters so yeah, we caught it a few times. We couldn't get rid of it one time, they were just everywhere.

Yes, my sister had it when she was like 10. She didnt look any different with it. We just had to stay away from her and wash everything. I dont think anyone freaked! It wasnt that big of a deal. Not to say I didnt make fun of her, but whatever, that was almost 20 years ago.

Yes my kids used to get them a lot when they were in middle school because some parents never did anything about it. We were always getting letters sent home and spent a fortune on the treatments.
Luckily now they are at high school it doesn't happen any more.

Yep! The youngest was an 8 month old baby. I worked in the children's shelter in my county. This baby barely had hair but the hair he had, was full of lice and eggs. It was sad.

Yes, when I was a kid in school, there was a girl I felt really sorry for. She had been badly burned in a fire and wore very shabby clothes. You could see the lice flying around her head and landing. I didn't get too close. I really felt so sorry for her.
