My ex "b-i-t-c-h" slapped me one time, busted my lip to the tune of 5 stitches, it took almost 2 weeks for the swelling to go down. I suppose it depends on the individual & how fast they heal.

Not sure how long it will take for your swelling to go down but you can take the digestive enzyme called bromelain away from food and it should help "digest" the swelling. I used the bromelain for swelling after dental surgery and it went down the next day. I use it for other types of swelling as well.
You may also try some Acute Rescue cream by Apex Energetics which has flower essences and homeopathic remedies in it on your lip in addition. This should help with the emotional aspect of the assault trauma on your lip to help heal it faster.
Traumeel is a homeopathic ointment that may help too.

You must verify with the surgeon that did your stitches. I feel most swelling goes down in about three days. That you can put a bloodless % on the swollen subject, (being cautious to not freeze the epidermis). Don't go away it on for more than fifteen minutes at a time. You could use the bloodless as soon as each hour or so.
