for postive hip hop micheal frenti...so my question is...
why do people hype mainstream rap? like even kanye and jay-z and the new nas( the best of the bunch) and ahhhhh, cam'ron, lil' wayne, chingy, etc. WHYYYYYYYY!!!
not only that, that is the reason that most people diss hip-hop/rap because that is the ONLY rap/hip-hop they hear...
SO... why aren't these other artist getting the love? Just like the good rock artist that get pushed aside for bad emo s**** and stuff the media rolls out like playdough for kids to copy. Like a fad. To sell. Image. buy this if you like this band, buy that if you like Britney or this rap artist.
does anyone get what I am saying?

I agree, i stopped listening to hip hop like 5 years ago because it sucks now. It's all about "bling" and "look how much better I am than everyone else," "look at my rims and all the cool stuff I have." It used to be about real things and real problems. But when you are rich and famous you have no problems, so your music suffers for it. Look at people like Jay-Z and Eminem. They were both poor and had shitty lives, started rapping about their problems, got good at it, and recorded a whole bunch of albums. Once they were really rich, their music started to suck because they had nothing to talk about, so they retired. It's a cycle that ruins everything in music. The underground guys are just like Jay-Z and Eminem were in the beginning. If they get famous the same thing will happen.

It is all about image.
The music industry sees music is too hard to sell. One thing is popular one day, and then it sucks the next day. What's cool in art is too hard for industry fatcats to determine, so they just sell image instead. Kids don't know the difference when they're little so they know they'll gobble it up, and the labels will make a ton of money without taking a lot of risks.

This does not mean, however, that every mainstream act is fake. A fortunate few are able to create something popular and have it also be good art. But i do agree that the underground is the place to be.

Underground Hip-Hop is greater effectual than mainstream Hip-Hop because of the fact artists exhibit themselves in techniques that the media does not settle for. that's greater loose and real. in certainty desperate loose, and the intelligence creeps by... Many mainstream artists make song for the money, even even though it style of feels as though the underground artists do it for the affection and the paintings of it.

First, it's not "atmaphere." It's "atmosphere."

Second, underground, nowadays, is better than mainstream. Though, don't diss the mainstream all together. There are still some pretty sick artists doing their thing...
