I can count on one hand the number of close friends I have. Acquaintances don't count.

Really depends on your life. I have experienced both. The large group of friends allows for flexability. As a young adult, life changes so quickly. With conflicting schedules and lack of time, large friend groups are great. You are learning a lot of the world through them and they make great resources.

Closer friends are more dependable. With more trust and loyalty, the unveil the deeper side of you. Their influences root deep inside of you. The down side is: they are harder to part with.

In college, my senior and super senior year I became very close to my lab mates and along with some others. When college ended, my lab mates and other close friends moved accross the country. I ironically, moved the the other direction. It has been devistating trying to replace what was close but now is distant. And a 5 hour plane ride to and from for a week does no justice for the year without.

I'm stuck here for a while - but hopefully I'll be closer to them in the future! :)

I have a little of both. I have this group of friends in this thing we started, "The French Cult," and we're really close. It's starting to get a little heated because of some things, but for the most part, we're really close. Then there's the bunch of people I don't really know, but I'm uber friends with them and we have good laughs and such. You'll always have a little of both.

My opinion: some, genuine pals is extra advantageous than a extensive team of aquaintences. At a college, do no longer assume lots of a transformation concerning attractiveness. diverse personalities in the time of severe college vs. adults? some do, some do no longer. merely relies upon on what you're in seek of for once you grow to be an person.

A select few always is best.
A large group of people is only good if you want to hide who you are.

I think it's good to have both. A bunch of people you can kick back and have fun with and a few where you can have a quiet dinner and you'll know they'll be there if you really need someone. They can be the same people or different people, but I like to have both.

Your problem is in your definition of friends. If you barely know them, they are acquaintances, not friends. Just a few real friends. Then there is no either/or.

i prefer a small group of friends because a smaller group is more intimate and you all have probably shared many secrets and know each other very well
