In the story The Odyssey, she turned Odysseus into an old beggar so he could sneak past his wife's suitors (everyone thought he was dead) and reclaim his household...That's pretty creative if you ask me, which you did...=D

Athena, also called Athene, in Greek religion, the city protectress, godess of war, handycraft, and practical reason, identified by the Romans as Minerva. She was essentially urban and civilized, the antithesis in many respects of Artemis, goddess of outdoors. Athena was probably a pre-Hellenic goddess and was later taken over by the Greeks. Yet the Greek economy, unlike that of the Minoans, was largely military, so that Athena while retaining her earlier domestic functions, became a goddess of war. Athena chose the Acropolis as her dwelling place, probably because the king,s palace was located there. She had no consort and no offspring. She may not have originally been described as a virgin, but the characteristic was attributed to her very early and was the basis for the interpretation of her epithets Pallas and Parthenos. As a war goddess she could not be dominated, and as a palace goddess she could not be violated. In the Illiad she fought alongside the Greek heroes; her aid was synonymous with military prowess. Also in the Illiad Zeus, the chief god, specifically assigned the sphere of war to Ares the god of war and Athena. Athena's moral and military superiority to Ares derived in part from the vastly greater variety and importance of her functions and in part fromm the patriotism of Homer's predecessors, Ares being of foreign origin. The qualities that led to victory were found on the aegis Athena carried when she went to war: fear, strife, defense, assault, but not reason or prudence. She is portrayed as the helper of Perseus and Hercules. Athena guarded the king's person and in so doing became goddess of good counsel as well as of war.She was widely worshipped, but in modern times she is associated primarily with Athens, to which she gave her name. Her emergence as city goddess accompanied the transition from monarchy to democracy, She was associated with birds ,particularly the owl, which became famous as the city's own symbol. She had no known mother; she sprang from Zeus's forehead. The Parthenon's west pediment features Athena's offer of the olive to the Athenians. Athena's birthday festival was centred on the celebration of the growth of vegetation. in Aeschylus tragedy Euminides she founded the Areopagus, and, by breaking a deadlock of the judges in favor of Orestes , the defendant, she set the precedent that a tied vote signified acquittal. Good luck!

In Greek mythology, Athena is the shrewd companion of heroes and the Goddess of heroic endeavour. The Greek philosopher, Plato (429-347 B.C.E.), identified her with the Libyan deity Neith who was the war-goddess and huntress deity of the Egyptians since the ancient predynastic period. She also would come to be known as the goddess of wisdom as philosophy became applied to cult in the later fifth century.
She was the patroness of weaving especially, and other crafts
and the more disciplined side of war, where she led the battle . The metalwork associated with the creation of weapons fell under her patronage. Athena's wisdom also includes the cunning intelligence (metis) of such figures as Odysseus.
She is attended by an owl, and is often accompanied by the goddess of victory, Nike. She is often shown wearing a goatskin breastplate called the "Aegis"--which, in late myths , was said to have been given to her by her father, Zeus, although she was associated with this long before in other cultural contexts. She often is shown helmeted and with a shield bearing the Gorgon Medusa's head. Her shield was later said to be a votive gift of Perseus. A serpent often accompanies this goddess and frequently is depicted at the base of the staff of her lance. The sea and ships as well as horses and chariots are associated with her, but not as often.
Athena is an armed warrior goddess, and appears in Greek mythology as a helper of many heroes, including Odysseus, Jason, and Heracles. In Classical Greek myths she never had a consort or lover, and thus, often was known as Athena Parthenos ("Athena the virgin"), hence the name of her most famous temple, the Parthenon, on the Acropolis in Athens.
Athena is said to be the offspring of Zeus alone, but that was only after the Oceanid Metis became pregant and Zeus swallowed her. By swallowing the Oceanid and her unborn child, Zeus became pregnant with Athena. Zeus wasn't built to deliver a baby, and he seems to have gestated the baby in his head. The solution: Hephaestus (or Prometheus) struck open Zeus' head with an axe to release the goddess Athena, who emerged from her father's head fully armed.Athena was known as the goddess Minerva by the Romans.
Athena was involved in most of the heroic tales. She sided with the Greeks in the Trojan War, various heroes, and especially with Odysseus, appearing in disguise to his son Telemachus to spur the young man to action when the suitors of Penelope were eating Odysseus' kingdom of Ithaca out of house and home.
She invented the bridle, which permitted man to tame horses, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship, and the chariot. She is the embodiment of wisdom, reason, and purity. She was Zeus's favorite child and was allowed to use his weapons including his thunderbolt. Her favorite city is Athens. Her tree is the olive. The owl is her bird. She is a virgin goddess.
She is one of the Olympians, a group of 12 gods who ruled after the overthow of the Titans. All the Olympians are related in some way. They are named after their dwelling place Mount Olympus. The others are Zeus , Poseidon ,
Hades, Hestia , Hera , Aris , Apollo , Aphrodite , Hermes ,
Artemis , and Hephaestus.
