Usually when I hear an old song the memories that flood back are the good things that were going on when I first heard it. Very seldom do bad memories surface with music, but there are some songs I don't listen to at all anymore because of those bad and rather sad moments in my life.

Yes, but the old songs only bring back the good parts of the old loves, for some reason they don't bring back the pain for me. They put me in a sort of sweetly reminiscent mood.

I remember when the song came out, and I remember hearing it performed by Janice Ian at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival a few years ago. It's awesome

If we're just talking about the pain. Yes, but it always gets less and less and finally disappears. Then it's just a memory.
There are also old songs that remind people of good thoughts and feelings, and they always STAY. :)

Hi Baby, They are just good memories and just a few sad. I love the old songs from the past. I do have a lot of good memories and miss some of them.

Not anymore.
Carly Simon said it best:
"I Haven't Got Time For the Pain"
Get on with your life. Let go of the dead wood.
