Actually, now in this time and age, the closest band comparing to led zpellin is Coheed and Cambria, jimmy paige even gave a guitar to the lead singer of the band. Very different soundings, vocals are some what similar but over all diferent band, but talent wise? Coheed and cambria( the new Rush) is pretty close, but still nothing is better than zepplin, bands only get close.

Hmmm, I can only think of 3 in terms of longevity, nos of songs/abums & #1 hits - The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elvis.

You spelled Zeppelin wrong (tsk, tsk). All of the bands listed already are pure and utter trash (aside from the pumpkins and a few Sabbath songs). I would say Pink Floyd would be up there pretty close. Everybody that listens to rock, in some shape and form, owes thanks to Led Zeppelin for influencing their band of choice in some way.

Maybe Garbage. There are a lot of close ones. But I think Led Zeppelin takes it.

bands not better than zeppelin:

muse, smashing pumpkins, bee gees(can you say one hit wonder), U2,
i don't know of cloverdale or page, but i would bet 100-1 that they are not better than zeppelin,

probably on scale of longevity and nm1 singles, the beatles and stones take it,

i still think zeppelin was the most rounded and varied band ever. I don't think anyone can argue that.

Nope. Never. Ever. Without Led Zep, music as we know it would be nothing.
