I'm sorry I hope my question does not stir up sad memories, if so, I apologize for asking.

I lost my dad to cancer in 1997 - I am missing him a lot tonight. My mom doesn't speak to me due to religious differences. But I do miss her too.

I still have my father, who lives in another state. I lost my mother, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law in an 18-month period a few years ago. I miss them terribly at this time of year.

*Edit ... no apology necessary ... it's good to remember them. Thank you for the question.

Both my parents are gone. My mother died on Thanksgiving Day 2 years ago. My dad died last Feb., but I never knew him anyway. Darlin, I know this is none of my business, but if there is anyway to get together with your mother, I would suggest you try. Religion should bring people together, not push them apart. My son and me are at odds too. He lost both his legs three years ago this March. After recovery, he started to deal in drugs. That wasn't as bad as that he placed his little sister (9yrs old at the time) in a position where she could have been hurt by his actions. I have zero tolerance for that. So I'm just letting this play out and see what happens. I miss him and my Grand-daughter. God will sort it out I hope. But I will not bend and except drugs in my family. No way!

Yes I still have both of my parents with me. I feel VERY fortunate to still have them. Dad is 84 and mom is 73. It was just my brother and I, he passed away unexpectedly Jan.2, 2005. At his funeral, mom had a stroke, leaving her some what paralyzed on her left side. At first she couldn't even walk or talk, but through therapy, she did learn how again to a degree. A month or so after she came home from the hospital, my dad had a light stroke. Last year mom fell, broke her hip, had that replaced. While she was in the hospital with that, dad was put in the hospital, he had to have a pace maker put in.

Part of this is in my profile if you care to read it.

None. My mother passed away in 1958 at the age of 58 from metastatic cancer. My father passed away in 1978 at the age of 83 from the cumulative effects of alcohol and cigarettes.

Both alive and well, although my Mom is a witch

curious connie, yes, my very best friend was killed a little over a year ago due to a drunken and drugged up driver, crossed the center line and hit her head on. I know your feelings. Something that stays with you no matter.

Edit: You have no reason to apologise, these memories will be with all of us regardless if it is mentioned or not. I am really having a hard time letting my mother go even though I know I should.

now how can you say that. My parents are still alive and they will be alive until I die first. thank god for that. However, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. just know that he is up there with god and watching over you and giving you his bless and about your mom. don't worry, she'll come around. religious doesn't separate us for good if you know what I mean. so you go head and call her and be there for each other. good bless.
