Talkin about Hip Hop albuns, a classic is an album that has no fillers i.e. you feel every song as something special and dedicated work. And an album that resists the test of time. After 10 or more years you still see people bangin' it.
Quality, emotion, strength, polemic, variated vibes... that's what classics is about.

Any songs from 50's-80's can be considered as a classic nowadays. A true classics are those maybe about 20-30 years have passed since it was started to be heard on the airwaves. Of course you'll not say Linkin Park is a classic artist, nor Simple Plan or Greenday, but you'd rather say it was The Beatles, Pink Floyd or Lynyrd Skynyrd. In addition, classics are the ones that had already gain respect and fame from the people, or from the entire world.

It has to have no more than one filler track, the production has to be damn near perfect, and its got to have some classic songs... so pretty much what you said.

But mainly I think it has to stand the test of time, people think that 50's Get Rich or Die Tryin is a classic, but it isnt that hot nowadays. Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, so on and so forth, are still relavent.

An unskippable, nearly flawless project put together, to the point that in 2 years after its release, you still enjoy every track. A "classic" is defined by the individual.
