Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, God the Son.

The angel said to them,

"Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:

"Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

(Luke 2:10-14)

With love in Christ.

First of all it's a celebration of the birth of Christ our Lord. Second it's a time to spend with family, giving gifts, reflecting on the past year and putting aside differences. I love to watch my son open his gifts and I have to admit it's a little exciting seeing what he gets me too. The extended family gets together the Saturday or Sunday before Christmas for our family party and each year we do something different. This year is "dirty santa" with a white elephant gift. I must admit this year I'm not quite in the Christmas spirit because I just got married a couple of months ago and had to leave my husband in his country while we wait for approval of his VISA so of course I'm very sad. I'm still looking forward to the party though to help take my mind off it for a little while. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Well, I'd like to say it's just the celebration of Jesus's birthday but I'm not sure it's that way for anyone these days. I suppose it's a part of it, but lately it's also the stress of shopping, baking, cooking and dealing with people you may not see all year long. For me, it also dealing with emotions that come out due to losing both grandparents, a sister and my father all in the past 4 years so Christmas is also about remembering them. As well as remembering the birth of the baby in the manger.

Jesus Christ's birthday.

"Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born"

Every time i hear that part of O Holy Night it makes me tear up. It reminds me of what Christmas really is about.

Salvation.
The birth of Jesus and the beginning of the new covenant with God.
God`s love towards his created.
The example of the wise men: to follow his star until we find Jesus.
Great joy because that star is burning brightly in my soul.
Love and peace towards my fellow man, that they may find that star (listen to the words of"Beautiful Star of Bethlehem"), that God`s will towards man would be fulfilled..."Peace on earth, good will towards man"
