1. Since it is 27 feet (1 Yard = 3 feet) long so you will need 9 tiles in a row, 2. Since it is 15 feet wide so to 7 rows for 9 tiles each will cover most of area. This make 63 tiles so far 3. Now left area as 1 foot X 27 Feet. 4. You can cut the tile from middle in a way so that you get 2 pieces for 3 feet X 1 foot each. 5. You need 9 such pieces, and you will need 5 tiles for that 6 So total tiles are 63 + 5 = 68 Simple :-)

Measure the length and width of your room. Multiply the Length and width together to find the area of the floor in feet. now each of these tiles is 4 square feet so divide the area you just calculated by 4 and this will give you the exact number of tiles you should need.
A word of advice I would get a few more than what you calculate in case something goes wrong with a tile or you have to cut funny shapes out of them.

Figure out the square footage of your room and add at least 10% for breakage when making the tiles that have to be cut. You can rent a tile cutter - it is worth it. A ceramic blade in a skill saw is helpful, too if you have curves and corners to fit around. Most places will take back any unopened packages or if you buy them loose, any extras. But save a few in case there is breakage later on.
Start by finding the center of the room lengthwise and width wise. Draw perpendicular lines through that point and lay our your tiles from there. Use plenty of spacers so the grout (if ceramic tile) is even.
Lots of work but it can look great if you take your time and do it right.

What is the size of your room?
If it is 4 x 4, you need 4.
If is is 10 x 10, you need 25.
Take area of room and divide by 4. Buy extra tiles, for breakage or if you have an odd size room.
