So yes this is about Jamie Lynn Spears. But the way the media is handleing the whole "16 year old is pregnant story", is just raising so many questions in my mind.
#1. Are we not aware that people this age get pregnant all the time. No I'm not saying its the best idea, but they act like its never happened.
#2. Why would they cancel Zoey 101? Last I checked shes not the only person on that show.
#3. We have no right to blame her parents. Yes she is only 16. But last I checked any idiot knows that if you have sex. No matter if its protected or not, theres always the chance of getting pregnant.
All these parents think that the little girl on Zoey 101, is the same girl in real life. Its sickening. Yes some young girls may look up to her. But thats because they can not seprate reality from fiction. And its sad that parents feel its ok for children to look up to kids on TV, and not those they really know and elders in there life.
They just need to leave her alone and let her be. The show is ending in a month, its no one but her and her boyfriends fault, and yes in todays society 16 years olds do get pregnant.
People are not looking at what really matters. What was a 16 year old doing living with her 19 year old boyfriend, and last I checked, by law, thats called rape.
All I keep hearing on tv is "who is to blame!?" "did her parents fail!?".
No one cares that she didnt kill her child. And that the result of this "mistake" is going to be a beautiful (hopefully healthy), precious new life.
And just because her sister is a screw up, doesnt mean that she is going to be as well.

You have good points but I disagree with the following "she's a separate person than her character". While I agree with the statement and I, an adult, understand. Many of her 9, 10, 11 year old fans cannot separate the too. As a parent, my goal is to be my daughters role model. That would be in a perfect world. Reality is that when I was a preteen - teen, my parents were not my role model and I looked up to people in the public eye. Sad, but true. It wasn't until I became an adult that I saw things really clearly.
With that being said, I don't judge her it could've happened to me or a number of my friends (well not the living w/ the boyfriend part because my parents would not have that) but I don't want my 6 year old (who loves Zoey) attempting to follow in her footsteps!

you made a couple of good points there, but I'm gonna go ahead and add what I feel.
People do get pregnant at all ages, but being in the public eye a person has a certain responsibility. Celebrities have immense influence over pre -teens , teens and in some cases adults. It sends the message that it is OK for someone to be pregnant at 16. Now maybe Jamie Lynn has the money to support a baby...most 16 yo's do NOT. For Jamie to appear on the cover of a magazine and say she's pregnant makes in seem almost glamorous. She's getting all this attention which in my opinion tells girls her age and younger that its fine to get pregnant at that age!!!!!

People believe what they want to believe. You have to remember that this is referring to a celebrity. We only like hearing about the bad stories in the lives of celebrities, maybe it makes us feel better about ourselves. I don't know why that is but I DO know that there is a reason why we don't hear about all the good celebrity stories. It's because we're not interested. Their screw-ups are major gossip material and we are prone to grouping all celebrities together, ESPECIALLY if they are related. So unlucky for Jamie-Lynn, she is a screw-up by default because of her big sis Britney.
By the way, the show wasn't cancelled because of her. The filming had already finished so it didn't cause any problems there.
Yes, people this age get pregnant all the time and as you said, we just don't hear about it. Why? Simple, they're not famous. As I stated earlier, we're only interested in the lives of others. It's sad really.

I am sorry, you are wrong. It is totally her parents fault that she got pregnant. They CLEARLY did not raise their children to make good choices, and good judgments. For goodness sakes, the girl is only 16. I am not saying that a child ruins a life at all, I think that she is going to have a HARD time facing the reality of parenthood. She was stupid to go sleeping around at 16! My gosh, what is our world coming to? Young people that have all the potential in the world going to sleep around with people that they don't know are free of STDS! A child is a blessing, and I PRAY to God that she does not abbort it!

I do get your point but I do disagree a bit.
I do think it is part of her parents fault for letting her live with an overaged guy when she's only 16. I'm ashamed on Jamie beacuse girls did look up to her and she has to be careful and USE PROTECTION!
