when spending money, passing laws that most people don`t want?

I think politician everywhere have an attitude of being "untouchable".

They do have an attitude that they are untouchable, and they really think they are. It takes a very long time to get them brought to justice if they need it and they will promise you anything just to get elected. With the politicians it is "a promise is made to be broken".

In short...yes. I could go on a long rant about that, but until Americans care enough to make politicians accountable, they will continue to do what is right for their contributors and not for their constituents. This is why we need publicly financed elections. Unfortunately, most people don't care enough about public financing to really fight for it because it doesn't seem to directly effect anyone's life. However, fixing that problem would help to fix all of the other ones since it would force politicians to listen to their constituents.

They are untouchable. Have you seen one that was thrown out because the people were organized and wanted to throw them out based on their voting record. They have very safe jobs for as long as the leaders want them to have those jobs!

Yep they really don't care about us the people who elected them. Once elected they get to draw big fat retirement checks for only serving one term. Yeah we get to pay for it. They have no reason to care and until we stand up for ourselves nothing will change.
