I have a 94 honda accord, 4 cylinder with 220kms. Around a year ago it was giving me around 450 - 500 kms per tank and now it's giving me only 300 - 350kms.
So, i want to know, what are all the possible reasons, that my car is burning more fuel and how can i fix the problem. Between, I have also tried gas treatment bottles but no help.

I recently replaced air filter, i've also tried premium gas and recently had my engine oil leak and transmission oil leak fixed. Which definately means that the car doesn't need tune up(Right?) so what else is left then?

Engine wear and poor fuel/air mixtures are the first things to consider. Have it tuned up. Unless you want to invest in repairing the engine that's the cheapest way to improve your efficiency. Over time engines just wear out. They lose compression which is a major loss. Valves wear and leak. Bearing and seals get worn or old. Any sloppy action in the engine from such wear is an efficiency loss.

I suggest you make sure filters are changed. If the cylinders are a little worn, a product called "Restore" is helpful. It won't do anything for bad valves.

Good luck! If you do the math, your losses in efficiency are still much cheaper than a replacement vehicle at the better fuel efficiencies. As long as it's not giving you problems, hang on to and take care of your Honda.

Your fixes do not constitute a tune-up. A tune up involves the ignition system, fuel/air mix system, possibly the timing system as well.

Get new spark plugs
Get your fuel injectors cleaned
Get your air filter replaced
Get your fuel filter cleaned
And clean your oil filter

This will most likely fix your problem
Every 4th or 5th tank of gas, buy your gas from Chevron with Techron or Shell

Contaminated oxygen sensors are often the cause of poor fuel economy, but other things like a vacuum leak can cause an O2 sensor to feed too much fuel to the engine. Check the following web sites and read what they say about the O2 sensor.

Cheaper fuel gets worse milage,May need a tune-up,air filter, plugs, wires, maybe have injectors cleaned. I would run a better grade fuel and see how it does.
