No it is not, it is a ring necked snake, and here in Fla it is considered rare and endangered to an extent.
In North America if a snakes pupil is round it is non-venomous and if it is cat like it is.
By the way a full grown ring neck may seem like a baby

Put it in your hand and let it bite you.. if it leaves two holes than yes it is venomous! After that write back to Yahoo for how to treat it, but do like everyone else and put the question under homework or something so the real experts can give there opinion.

That's a ringneck snake. They're harmless, I used to play with them all the time in my yard.
P.S. Please don't keep it. They're notorious for not eating in captivity and it's sad for a previously free animal to be put in a cage.

thats the orange-ringed viper. do not approach, extremely venomous and highly aggresive.
