It's all part of a TNA storyline to allow Senshi ( the actual winner of the briefcase & who really did quit TNA after Turning Point ) leave the company.Daniels is involved in the angle & being "fired" is all part of it.He's still on TNA.
He has commitments in Japan, where he wrestles regularly ( his contract with TNA allows him to do this ) & the firing lets him wrestle for AJWP.I read that he will wrestle under his old Curry Man gimmick there in an effort to "fool" fans.
Expect Jim Cornette to come up with some angle to allow him back in the New Year.

Like the others said, he is not really fired. Its all just a storyline. They are even having him wrestle for Independents for a month or 2 to make it look "real".

he is not leaving because it is all part of the storyline if they really did release him don't you think that WWE would be talking to him by now and gave him a contract
