Ok, so this is kind of a stupid question but I really wanna know, i'm 29 wks (30 wks tomarrow) and sometimes i feel little jumps in my stomach which i'm pretty sure are hiccups, but they seem to last a while, is this normal or safe? How long do they usually last? Also is it normal for the baby to kick so hard that it knocks the wind out of you? I didn't know they could be this strong at 29 wks???

Baby hiccups in the womb are very normal; it means that their lungs are working great, and they're preparing themselves for breathing air. They also swallow amniotic fluid as well, which is okay since it just passes through their system harmlessly. Hiccups usually occur 1-3 times a day, and can last for 2 to 30 minutes.
As for the kicking, it often hurts if they manage to hit the diaphragm or the ribs. It's good that your baby is strong and energetic; might say something about what he or she is like when he/she comes out. Enjoy your baby's movement for now, coz you're going to miss it later!

Hiccups are very normal and can last a long time. Don't worry at all... I am 36 weeks and I can feel my baby having the hiccups too. My daughter had the hiccups all the time in the womb and then once she was born, she continued to have them pretty often.
About the baby kicking you... they can be pretty strong, but I don't know about actually knocking the wind out of you.

This is the time that movement really starts to pick up. I know that my baby would have hiccups anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. She turned out fine. And yes, sometimes they do knock the wind out of you...or the pee. Be careful when he/she steps on that bladder!
You never know, though. You may be further along than you think. I would probably check with the doctor with these concerns.

My second baby had the hiccups when I was in labor and they had the monitor on me. It showed on the monitor every time and lasted for almost 15 minutes.
My first one nearly kicked me to pieces. Ribs, stomach, intestines, cervix,...I was afraid she wasn't going to stay in there until it was time. My second one barely moved. I was worried because there was so little movement but, everything was fine.
Be glad you have a strong healthy baby. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

It's very normal for them to have hiccups for EVER it seems.
Get used to it too, cause chances are if they have them bad in your belly, they'll have them bad outta your belly too. My daughter gets naaasty spells still at 4 months old. It's not harmful and won't hurt them.
