I bought gold paper and red ribbon and I want to make it look pretty but I don't know how? Can anyone give any suggestions on how to make bows and such?

Get curling ribbon (the skinny ribbon). Cut a bunch of strands about 4-6 inches, depending how big your package is. Tie them together in the middle. Then curl each individual ribbon strip as follows:
Take the strip and find the base near the knot. Place the edge of one side of the scissors there, with the ribbon between the scissor blade and your thumb or finger. Run the blade along the ribbon strand - it will curl. Repeat as necessary.
If you curl each strand like this, you'll have a pretty mass of curls. Simple and nice.

After wrapping gift use ribbon to wrap around middle both side to side and end to end. The make a big loopy bow take a twist tie to center to keep it together...add streamers of ribbon and curl it with edge of scissors....even add a sprig of holly or candy canes into the bow...or a small toy,etc.

look up "how to tie a bow" on google, there are tons of sites out there with step by step directions. It might take a little practice but you'll get it!

Go to Walmart or Target, they have kits to help you make bows. At this time, that is the easiest to do. There are books on the subject, but they would drive you nuts trying to learn how!!!
