I remember about 5 - 8 years ago my parents put a password on our computer. When you went to get online you had to enter a password. When you entered the password you were free to do whatever on the internet. They were just trying to mointor how much time we spent on the internet. Is there still a way to do that. I dont want a regular password log-in account. I am trying to prevent my brother from getting on my laptop and he knows how to get around those passwords. Is there a way to stop him from using internet when he gets on?

You don't need the internet to do that, if you don't want him on your laptop, click start, contraol panel, user account and from there you can set a password to protect your computer. just DO NOT forget it, that's very important.

Tell your parents that you like them to talk to your brother about your laptop concerns. Of coarse if you share log in seperatly with your own password is the best idea. Keep the peace!

Press the DEL key at startup (after a reboot) and password protect your entire computer in your BIOS, not just Windows.

You can't password protect the internet...the founder of the WWW, Algore won't let you.
