It's a lay man's way of saying that life is governed by the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (AKA: entropy) and the corrolaries of Murphy's Law.

Yeah, life is filled with trials and conflict because of the sin in the world, but after I die I'm going to be in heaven with God, the ideal, perfect place for all eternity, no tears or sadness, sounds pretty good to me. Because Jesus died for my sins.

It surely is a negative point of view.

If you focus on the bad things in life, you will be less happy compared to when you focus on the good things. There is always good and bad.

It is up to you to choose a positive or negative point of view.

You haven't understood the smallest thing about life and your attitude towards is backward. Life is the best thing that can happen to you. Open your inner eye, watch your heart and open it to love. Then you'll see it as it is! Take care!

Agreed to a basic sense. Go through life with no expectations or pre-conceived notions and life isn't so much of a female dog, but either way your ultimate end is death. (Atheist, no life after sorry ;P)
