Are incest fantasies common?

Would you say that it is normal to have incest fantasies, as long as they aren't your real family. How common are they?

Like if someone said a fantasy about having a threesome with twin sisters, or a mother and daughter. Then there is the famous fictional movie series Taboo, with Kay Parker. Again, not anyone you know in real life or your own family.

So how common and healthy are these and other incest fantasies?

I'd guess that they are sort of common, and that they occur because people like to have taboo fantasies they'd never actually do.

One of the main points of even having fantasies, is that they are about something you can't or wouldn't have in real life. Since everybody has fantasies about taboo or inaccessible subjects of one kind or another, i would say the percentage of people who have such fantasies is somewhere between 30 percent and 60 percent.
Not very accurate, I know. Statistics aren't clear about this - until the 1960s incest was thought of as very rare. Then they did some studies and found that over 5 percent of people in the USA had actually had incest. Now it is recognized that over 10 million people in the country have had incest, in spite of very strict laws and cultural prohibitions against it.
However, consider this; prohibitions against incest are found in every culture where they have been able to find information about their laws. If you need laws against something, it means you have to because somebody is doing it. That means incest, though not legal, is actually present in every culture.

Fantasies real or imagined are actually more common than one may think.

Incest is the last big taboo. Behind gay and lesbian relationships and marriage, and plural marriages.

cousin marriage and even brother sister marriage was quite common until about a hundred years ago. It is being challenged now in the courts as unconstitutional like the gays have done.

I didn't know this kind of thing was popular. Sexual fetishes can have all kinds of origins. It depends on the person. There is a market for every kind of sexual aberration. Why do you think, for example, that some people like science fiction, while others can't stand it or think it's stupid? Same principle, really.

I cant believe I'm answering this but:

incest like any other fantasy, whether it be about being kidnapped and raped, role playing, or anything is pretty common (you pretty much answered your question). I think that its healthy to have these fantasies as long as they don't consume your life (or sex life) and as long as it doesn't pertain to your real life. Fantasies are fantasies.

Yes, they are more common than people like to admit. As long as you're not jones'n on your sister or thinking about incest it 24-7, you're probably fine. Though I can't imagine ever having sex with someone in my family. Creepy.

People often think about things to do with sex though.

That's totally natural.. Two is better then one so why not do twins then just 1 of them.
