You would have to take all the teams in MLB look at hits per 9 and walks per 9 over the season and divide that but the total of inning pitched to come up with the correct answer...and I don't think anyone has the time for that unless you want to calculate it on a spreed sheet..but I wouls guess 9.25 per inning over the year

I don't say that thier is an avantage number, there are times when a team can get the frist 3 batters out in a inning, and somethinmes they might get hits, scoress a run, walks whatevr, and sometimes it might go up to about 9 or 10 batters to bat in the inning.

At least 8.5 per full inning (both teams). Now thats just AB's, that doesnt include PA's (plate appearances). That would be a lil higher, considering BB (base on balls, walks) and HBP (hit by pitches) dont count as AB's but technically they trotted up to the plate. So in a game there is usually abt 4-5 combined HBP's/BB's....

4-5, because, on average, a pitcher allows at least one baserunner per inning (via hit, walk, error, or otherwise), and there are innings where pitchers just struggle. There are double plays, but there are still 4-5 that will bat.

6-8. Both teams bat usually except when the home team is up in the middle of the ninth.
