If not back to the Glen, then a purpose built road course near Las Vegas.
The money is there, the glitz is there, and it would be a blast to make a whole vacation out of the race.
Only down side, is losing Kimi there, and never seeing him again!

The "money-no-object" choice is Road Atlanta. Imagine F1 cars through here: http://www.roadatlanta.com/site_graphics/trackmap/esses_large.jpg
Here's an onboard view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs70-0hwm_M
It's simply the best race track in the whole of North America. It's interesting for drivers and it's a test for cars...especially if the race were to be held in midsummer. The problem would be bringing the track up to F1 standards (larger pits, grandstands, access - not bad already, but needs to have better international links, F1-type safety) and widening it in some places. It might need to find an extra half-mile loop too, as F1 cars would probably lap there in about a minute (LMP1 cars lap there in around 1m09). As long as that could be accomplished without ruining the character of the track then you would have a great place to showcase F1 for US fans.

You may get a lot of people saying Laguna Seca, but I'm not sure they would run an F1 race with the track in it's current configuration. Watkins Glen could be fun, I'd quite like to see F1 cars racing on snow again.

The "short term, let's have a good race" option would be Long Beach. It's probably the best street circuit that's ever been made (yes, I include Monaco in that), it makes for good racing, there is overtaking and cars and drivers have to work hard.

However street circuits aren't the best way to show Americans F1 cars at their limit, you need a real road course to do that.

I'd love to see F1 go back to it's former home: Watkins Glen. The only problem is the area isn't fit to host an F1 event anymore.

Watkins Glen-it would work nicely with Montreal due to the proximity.

I would personally like to see a track in Vegas. It is perfect. They have the hotels, glitz, glamour and restaurants. I mean...what was in Indy....Denny's, Walmart and tons of trailer parks? UGH!

They should just skip the US for as long as they can. Americans have their own forms of motorsport and they don't really appreciate F1 like the rest of the world does.
