Did you wash it out with simple hot dish soap water and lots of baking soda and dry it ? Then I'd leave an uncovered open bowl or dish of even more baking soda in it with the door closed. I remove all odors from the microwave with a bowl of baking soda. Even the fishy ones.

put a lemon cut in half in a glass bowl with some water micro on high for 7 minutes also work well on burnt popcorn smell

I put vinegar in a glass bowl and turn it on for a few minutes. Let it sit in there without opening overnite and then reheat and wipe out the inside.
