Generally this is the case in all countries where cars are made.
The reason for this is because most police cars are purchased as fleet vehicles (in bulk so there is a discount) and it wouldn't exactly be politically correct to give that business to a foreigner (that's the short version of why)

besides the fact a cop automobile doesnt have the capacity to point an entire city block at will? the fact which you will locate a city cop. and that a patrol is greater of a secure practices verify then something. a Drone direction could want a particular purpose and trip spot. the place there's a drone, ineffective bodies frequently keep on with. I see some hate twoards my remark so how approximately this for a transformation; if a united states of america is prepared to replace its civil liberties and its mutual have confidence between government and human beings; all contained in the call of "risk-free practices" then we actually havent deserved any of it. A drone can't see each and every little thing, a cop nevertheless has the greater efficient view from the floor then any drone ever will. there is not any actual clarification for drones to be flying over the U. S., purely like there is not any want for NSA, CIA, or FBI cord faucets on any civilian who has stressful thoughts agains the government. have confidence your human beings to do the excellent element, have confidence your police to do their jobs and there wont be a want for such measures

In Florida, if a drug dealer was caught in a foreign car - it would
have been confiscated - and perhaps converted into a unit.
We have Florida State Troopers who drive Thunderbirds and Trans Ams - dang they look sharp
about broke my neck the first time I saw one
all the best

Some foreign cars are used in undercover patrols, as they are picked up from drug dealers. You will never know who they are, unless you are a drug dealer, and being watched. A car can be picked up in Arizona, and wind up in New Jersey or vice versa.

well if it can be made internally then external isn't an option. it wouldn't be a very good picture to paint if the country were using other countries cars for domestic reason esp when the same thing can be built in u.s . also it keeps money in the country.

It's frowned upon by the general public for a local government to purchase foreign vehicles for its officers and other employees. That said, there are a lot of confiscated vehicles which become stake-out cars, etc.

I was in a town in western Washington state called LaConner once a long time ago, their local police were driving Renault LeCars...it is a small touristy town and I guess it was just a gimmick..
