In a nutshell as a 16yr old you should be now entitled to Youth Allowance from Centrelink - apply for that AND an advance# you are half way there, then work for 2 weeks part-time and you will have enough money.
# an advance is about $200-400

As long as you are studying full time you can get Youth Allowance. If you are earning cash in a part time job as long as it's under $300 a fortnight you should still get some payments from Centrelink on top of what you are working.

eg, My 17yr old son who has just left school earned $311 in the last fortnight - he is getting $190 this week from Youth Allowance after declaring his earnings.

Make sure you look at http://www.wageline.qld.gov.au/youngworkersrights/starting_work.html and http://www.thesource.gov.au
A great site based for young people. 12 - 25 yrs old about getting a job and money crisis and management.

As for part time work - Coles, Woolworths, IGA, K-mart, Target, Big W, The Warehouse.
Any fast food places, McDonalds, KFC etc - they all take on casual staff. - Just walk in and ask !
Smaller takeaway shops, like Pizza, Pasta etc... they are always taking on delivery persons and need kitchen hands....

- Most of the places above you apply online on their websites, look for a link 'careers' or 'employment'. A bit lengthy I know.... but you fill in what area you want to work etc, and they will email you jobs coming up, you can pick and choose, if you are then accepted they will call you in for an interview.

Good Luck with it all.

Get a job. Live at home. Don't spend any money. That way you'll save most of your wages.

If you are really desperate, the age of consent is 16...

a month? could be done
a year? easy.

your over 14 and 9 months, therefore you can get a part time job. working at places like bunnings or around horses -- cleaning stables, grooming etc --- they earn buckets. kinda nasty job, but if you want the money!!
